The RFC will hold its monthly Louisiana Produces meeting on Tuesday, June 10th at 7 pm at Robinson Film Center, 2nd floor. The address is 617 Texas St., Downtown Shreveport.
This month's guest will be UPM, Cyndi Brenner. Brenner has worked on such film as Thirteen Conversations about One Thing, Harold and Kumar II, and Wonderful World. She is now coordinating the grip and electric training courses for LPC and LTC (see below).

Louisiana Technical College - Mansfield Campus is sponsoring a Grip and Electric training course June 9 to July 3, 2008.
In 4 weeks you can learn the basics of how to work in the grip or electric department on any
film and television projects additionally the skills learned can be applied to construction,
safety, electrical equipment, and other industries.
The course is a 4 week program, with cross training in both grip and electric. The design of
the program will consist of classroom sessions and practical sessions that will mirror the
actual workings of a film set. Each student will be trained in both crafts and safety.
Students should be physically capable of handling the equipment used on set; and have the
stamina to work long hours in any weather. A fundamental knowledge of electricity and its
basic concepts is a plus. Basic reading and math skills are required of all students.
