CITIZEN KANE
American Film Institute's "#1 Film of All Time"
Directed by and starring Orson Welles
Presented on 35mm film Classic, In English
March 6-12

Commonly regarded as one of the greatest films of all time, Orson Welles' Citizen Kane tells the story of the rise and fall of Charles Foster Kane, a publishing magnate famously based on William Randolph Hearst, whose vast wealth eventually isolates him in his castle-like refuge. See it on our largest screen, presented from a rare 35mm film print.
"Citizen Kane comes close to being the most sensational film ever made in Hollywood." -Bosley Crowther, New York Times

CHE: PARTS I & II
Starring Benicio Del Toro
WINNER, Best Actor, 2008 Cannes International Film Festival Historical Drama, In Spanish and English with English Subtitles
March 7-19

Presented as two separate, feature-length films (both requiring separate tickets for entry), CHE is a beautifully-photographed epic drama exploring the life of Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara. The film, directed by Steven Soderbergh, refuses to simply take a side on the many political issues raised by Guevara's life story. Instead, it presents this controversial figure from various angles: hero, executioner, pop icon, celebrity, doctor, and revolutionary. Ours is the only Louisiana engagement planned for the film.
"Benicio Del Toro Gives a heroic performance." -Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
