(500) DAYS OF SUMMER
August 28 - September 10 Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel
Comedy/Drama/Romance, In English
A clever, offbeat romantic comedy, (500) Days of Summer takes a very familiar premise - boy meets girl, boy falls in love, girl doesn't - and flips it on its head, resulting in one of the most talked-about films of the year. An unpredictable, time-hopping look back at a promising but failed relationship starring two luminous young actors at their creative peaks.
"This is a romantic comedy that makes the concept of romantic comedies appealing again -- that reminds you how resonant and transporting they can be when they're done right." -Rene Rodriguez, Miami Herald
PAPER HEART
August 28 - September 10 Starring Charlyne Yi and Michael Cera
Nominated for the 2009 Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize
Romance, In English
Paper Heart follows comic Charlyne Yi as she embarks on a journey across America to make a documentary film about love. She talks with friends and strangers, scientists, bikers, romance novelists, and children. They each offer diverse views on modern romance. Then she meets a boy after her own heart, Michael Cera, and the film veers into uncharted waters, blurring the line between what's real and what's scripted.
"Enjoying this wondrous wisp of a something is easy, describing it is hard. Luckily, Charlyne Yi is an enchantress." -Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
