WEATHER GIRL
August 21-27 Starring Mark Harmon, Tricia O'Kelley and more.
Romantic Comedy, In English
Filmmakers Blayne Weaver and Brandon Barrera at select screenings!

When we initially hosted Bossier City native and writer/director Blayne Weaver to screen his new film Weather Girl in July, we were overwhelmed by requests for a return engagement. The film tells the story of a Seattle, WA weather girl who has an on-air meltdown after learning that her boyfriend has been cheating on her. Forced to move in with her slacker brother, she rebuilds her life with a little help from her friends.
See a list of screenings with filmmakers in attendance.

THE HURT LOCKER
August 14-27 Jeremy Renner, Guy Pearce, Ralph Fiennes, Evangeline Lilly
WINNER, Best Film, Venice Film Festival
Action/Thriller, In English

The Hurt Locker is a riveting, suspenseful portrait of the courage under fire of the military's most unrecognized heroes: the bomb squad technicians who volunteer to challenge the odds and save lives in the world's most dangerous places. If you're looking for a pulse-pounding action film that doesn't require you to check your brain at the door, this is the one.
"A first-rate action thriller, a penetrating study of heroism and a showcase for a trio of brilliant performances."-Joe Morgenstern, Wall Street Journal

Regional Filmmaker's Spotlight
AGENDA
Thursday, August 27, 7:30pm With filmmaker Jonathan de la Luz in attendance
Thriller/Film Noir, In English

The Regional Filmmakers Spotlight presents a screening and discussion of Jonathan de la Luz's 2007 thriller Agenda, featuring a Q&A with the filmmaker following the film. De la Luz, who lives and works in Longview, TX, is co-founder of Azisa Pictures. Admission, as always, is free and open to the public. Agenda is the story of a young ex-con who works his way into the lives of a successful married couple in hopes of conning them. But is he merely a pawn in a much bigger scheme of revenge?
