October 2-15 Starring Abbie Cornish and Ben Whishaw
Nominated: 2009 Cannes Film Festival Palme d'Or (Top Prize)
Written and Directed by Oscar-winner Jane Campion (The Piano)
2 Hours - Romance, In English
Bright Star is the story of the secret love affair between 19th century romantic poet, John Keats, and the girl next door, Fanny Brawne, an outspoken student of fashion. Their passionate relationship inspired many of his greatest poems, despite their vastly different social backgrounds and the disapproval of their friends and family. An early contender for awards season accolades.
"With its gorgeously framed shots and superb craftsmanship, Bright Star is a thing of beauty." -Claudia Puig, USA Today
MY ONE AND ONLY
Continues thru October 8 Starring Renée Zellweger, Kevin Bacon, Nick Stahl
1 Hour, 48 Minutes - Comedy, In English
Based on the true life story of Hollywood icon George Hamilton's childhood, My One and Only tells the story of Ann Devereaux (Zellweger), a southern mother who has just left her philandering husband Dan (Kevin Bacon) and taken to the road with her two sons in search of a new life. Funny and touching, the film has attracted critical acclaim and festival honors for moving performances by Bacon and Zellweger.
