Under Mr. Williams mentorship, young actors will build and refine their auditioning skills and on-camera performance. Through one-on-one instruction and critique, learners will gain valuable insight into the kind of effective scene/character development required
for episodic television and film. Participants will receive individually selected scripts and scenes from current and/or well-known film projects prior to the workshop. Each actor will also receive a professionally filmed DVD of his/her scenes — a, potentially,
important tool for securing an agent and auditions.
All Breakthrough Week sessions will be held at Fairfield Studios-- Shreveport’s premiere, state-of the-art, multimedia production facility.
Parents are welcome to attend sessions with their child. The week concludes with a private conference with Mr. Williams where parents can discuss their child’s strengths and potential. A state certified teacher will assist Mr. Williams during all sessions. During a two-hour Parent Orientation GregAlan, will engage families in honest, eyeopening dialogue about the professional working child actor, including:
• Parental responsibilities,
• Industry work rules/child labor laws,
• Fiscal and career management
• Getting an Agent
• Union Membership
• Photos & Demos
• and many other important aspects of today’s film and television industry. Most importantly, GregAlan will talk with parents about how to insure their child’s safety, self-esteem, and sense of normalcy, in a potentially rewarding industry that often abuses young actors.
